Participatory Youth Development Network (PYDN)-Pakistan





PYDN-Vision:


PYDN-Pakistan as a national resource, for promoting youth development in the marginalized sections of the society, through participation and networking for the sustainable development of Pakistan






PYDN-Mission:

To work for youth development in the areas of skill building, sexual and reproductive health, leadership, career counseling, friendly environment, and sustainable development of the youth belonging to the underprivileged sections of society in Pakistan

PYDN-Objectives:

Meaningful Participation and Active Networking of the Pakistani Youth in the following areas:

v Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
v Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
v Sustainable Environment
v Skill-based Youth Development




PYDN-Methodology:

PYDN-Pakistan strives to achieve above objectives through following tools:


v Training

v Advocacy

v Research & Publications

v Cyber Activism & Media

PYDN-Strategies:

PYDN-Pakistan will be implementing the following activities to achieve its core objectives:

v A provincial level summit will be held every year at Hyderabad

v Regular trainings and workshops will be organized on the PYDN’s core objectives.

v PYDN-Task Force will be formed for a term of one year. The core responsibility of this taskforce will be to organize Sindh Youth Summit (SYS) once a year.

v Young Leaders Network (YLN) at district level will be formed for the facilitation and capacity building of the young leaders.

v PYDN-Pakistan will invite international organizations to conduct training and facilitation programs in under-privileged areas in accordance with PYDN-Pakistan’s core objectives.

v PYDN-Pak will co-operate with local, national and international civil society networks through its youth networks working in each district.



PYDN-Task Force: (TF)

Participatory Youth Development Network (PYDN), Pakistan aims to form PYDN-Task Force for the continuation of its programs.

This Taskforce will be formed through tough scrutinizing process to maintain the quality. The members will be selected from those who are the participants of any PYDN-Pakistan activity. The members will be trained and provided ample opportunities to develop their personal skills.

The key responsibilities of PYDN-Task Force will be to organize the PYDN-Training Programs and SINDH YOUTH SUMMIT to be held each year.

PYDN-Task Force will consists of 15-members and its duration will be for one year.


PYDN-Young Leaders Networks: (YLNs)

YLN is another structure of PYDN-Pakistan. Young Leaders Networks will be formed at District Level.

There will be one YLN for each district. The members will be recruited through proper process and will be headed by a Network Leader. YLNs will be trained to promote awareness at grass-root level in their respective districts to achieve PYDN-Pakistan’s objectives.

The key responsibilities of PYDN-Pakistan will be make arrangements for PYDN-Pakistan’s activities in their respective district. They will carry the PYDN-Pakistan objectives to grass-root level.




There will be 7 members in each YLNs and they will be for the tenure of two-years. The Network Leader will be replaced every year by another active member of the network but the YLN duration is for Two-years.


PYDN-Friends of Youth: (FOY)


PYDN-FOY will be the working professionals and trainers who will be act as the mentors for the PYDN-Pakistan.

They will provide the technical assistance to PYDN-Pakistan and will conduct the regular training sessions of PYDN-Pakistan.

PYDN-Skill-Based Trainings:

This is the one of the basic programs of PYDN-Pakistan catering to achieve the PYDN-Objectives in Millennium Development Goals, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Sustainable Environment and Skill-based Youth Development

PYDN-Pakistan will be conducting skill-based trainings and advocacy programs through networking and participatory approach.

PYDN-Skill-based trainings will be conducted in the various marginalized areas of Pakistan. PYDN Task Force and Young Leaders Networks at each district will be responsible to organize these trainings programs in their areas.

By this way, PYDN-Pakistan is promoting youth-development in the marginalized areas of Pakistan.


PYDN-Career Counseling Program:

For the youth belonging to under-represented areas, PYDN-Pakistan has designed this special program to act as a mentoring organization for the career development.

This program is particularly for the youth of villages and remote areas, which will be selected by PYDN-Young Leaders Networks (YLNs), to provide them career trainings.

PYDN-Pakistan Friends of Youth the PYDN-Young Trainers will provide them the training in the career development.


Sindh Youth Summit (SYS)


Sindh Youth Summit (SYS) is a mega event of PYDN-Pakistan organized yearly in the major cities of Pakistan. This summit will be the first of its kind in a way that it will be organized by the Youth and for the Youth.

The summit participants will be between the ages of 16 to 24.

The summit will focus on the objectives of PYDN-Pak through participation and trainings. There will be internationally recognized trainers and role-model youth and development professionals presenting in the conference.

The summit will also provide a platform to other youth networks/NGOs.

There will be extensive media coverage in both the print and electronic media. The Summit will be consist of 300 vibrant youth belong to the province of Sindh mainly and Pakistan generally.

This summit will prove as platform to groom the young leaders for Pakistan to bring this country on the path of sustainable development.

  3. It looks very beautiful event and Hope that PYDN-Pak will organized such a nice training program, this is time where we (Youth) can bring the change that we need to bring all the sindhi which are back ward and they don't have way, so PYDN Pak will provide them way to success.
    Hope that 2nd OCPS Program will be more then 1st one please do share the pics with all of us ................

  8. I believe this is a great effort. We are also looking to make a similar impact in terms of enhancing awareness amongst youth.
